- Patrice Barnes has a successful voice studio in Calgary, Alberta and has been using Sing & See with most of her students to great effect. “I cannot say enough good things about Sing and See because daily while working with students, I can find another use for Sing and See. It is the best thing I have been able to introduce to my Studio and all the results are so very positive!”
In general, I’m using “Sing and See” for my exam students learning their technical requirements for their grades. It is wonderful for their unaccompanied scales they have to sing (learning to see/hear harmonic/melodic minor scales, major/minor scales and, in particular, their chromatic scales). They always seem to think they are doing it correctly until we use your wonderful program. Then when it comes to sight-reading practice – if they have nobody at home that is musical and understands what they are trying to do, I get them to sight-sing their piece into your program and then play it back to see if they were or were not singing the right notes. Ear-Training – I can’t say enough about how that helps. They have to sing intervals above and below a given note and now they can see it isn’t just sort of getting there, it is singing in the middle of the requested note.
Many times during lessons and the students are doing their warm-ups, we use the program to reinforce “singing on the air”, “Pitch”, the approach to the “first” note and the finishing of the “last” note.
I have some new students this year that are just getting acquainted with the program, and their eyes literally light up as the usefulness of the program becomes apparent to them.
I cannot say enough good things about Sing and See because daily while working with students, I can find another use for Sing and See. It is the best thing I have been able to introduce to my Studio and all the results are so very positive,
Thanks again.
